The Religion of Love
- A Philosophy of Respect -

IN GENERAL

Religion has been referred to as the “Opium of the Masses.” It has also been said religion was invented by the rich to keep the poor at bay. Did you know that there are over 2,000 different religions?

People of course, are curious. How did we all get here? How did the earth come to be? How can everything be so perfect? The sun, the moon, the stars, the various species, gravity, wind and weather, reproduction - - - so much to ponder. Of course, we want to know the answers -  - - there must be a higher power - - - there has to be a higher intelligence.

In reality though, the one thing we have learned over the years is that man is territorial. It seems we feel more comfortable with “our own kind.” In other words, if you are not of the same race, religion or culture there can be friction, mistrust, even hatred. As evidence are the Jews and the Muslims, the Protestants and the Catholics, the Buddhists and the Hindus, etc. Wars have been fought between nearly all nationalities - - - the Germans and the French, the Americans and the Japanese, the Surbs and the Croatians and the list goes on. Even fans supporting opposing sporting teams show their medieval territorial instincts.

America for instance, has welcomed and accepted this melting pot and has created laws to protect all of its citizens. It has not been easy however, because people still feel more comfortable with people of their own race and people of similar religions to their own.

The Religion of Love is universal. It does not belong to a particular class, race or nation. It transcends these barriers and joins the entire brotherhood of man. We welcome those from all religions throughout the world and accept the good in all religions.

President John Kennedy stated that, “In the final analysis, man’s most basic common language is that we all inhabit this small planet, we all breath the same air, we all cherish our children’s future, and we are all mortal.”
